NISI’S, owned and run by Denise Stevenson, is an artisan bakery based in the New Forest that produces a range of scrummy Italian biscuits. After various careers (ranging from commercial manager for Mars to freelance TV producer), Denise finally realised her long standing ambition to turn her passion for food into a business and opened the bakery in 2009. Wholly committed to locally sourced produce, the biscuits are made using the very finest ingredients.

Our story is pretty simple. I’ve loved biscotti for a long time, either for dipping in a good strong cup of tea, or in a glass of Vin Santo. One day, with no decent biscotti in the house, I decided to bake some. There started a two-year period of trying different recipes until I was satisfied that I had developed the perfect biscotti recipe. A local deli owner got hold of some of my biscotti and asked me if I would start supplying him. The rest is quite literally history. Each product has been developed personally by me after months of testing and tasting, and is generally an adaptation of several recipes.

2012 has been a tremendous year so far:

  • NISI’S launched an individually wrapped biscotti and amaretti. These are targetted at the coffee shop market and finally provide an artisan produced, premium product to rival the biscotti currently available.
  • NISI’S started to supply retailers across the UK through our distributor Cotswold Fayre.
  • NISI’S supplied all of the athletes competing in the Olympics with our chocolate chunk biscotti.
  • NISI’S scooped three awards at the Great Taste Awards, including a prestigious triple gold medal.
